How to care for handmade jewelry?
Sterling silver tarnishes due to exposure to air, environmental factors and oils in skin. By following these tips, one can keep WhiteLotus Design pieces looking their best:
1. Jewellery storage is very important, so when the jewellery is not worn, we recommend storing it in an airtight and dry plastic zip-loc bag/pouch. This will slow down the oxidation process.
2. Refrain from showering, exercising, or swimming with jewellery on.
3. Jewellery should be stored away from natural sunlight and heat.
4. We recommend that customers remove jewellery before going to bed or participating in physical activity. Exposure to certain harsh chemicals or environments will result in compromising the integrity of the jewellery. This includes, but is not limited to the following: perspiration, perfumes, cleaning agents, chlorine, salt water, and silver polish
5. We recommend using a soft polishing cloth to clean tarnished pieces.
Important:
Don't clean any silver jewellery with gemstones/pearls in a commercial cleaning dip or silver polish, as the chemicals may be too harsh
